Chippokes Plantation State Park

Formal gardens surround the Chippokes Mansion. The park includes a swimming complex, visitor center, picnic facilities, and hiking & biking trails. Preserved today as a 1,683-acre state park overlooking the James River. Grounds open daily. Visitor Center and Gift Shop.

Hog Island Wildlife Management Area

Hog Island Tract is a mixture of 3,908 acres of flat, open land and pine forest interspersed with tidal marshes and controlled ponds. State maintained property. Fields planted to raise food for migratory birds. Bird watching, fishing, hiking. Scheduled game hunts. Open daily.

Chanco on the James

Chanco on the James has combined a Conference Center and an accredited Summer Camp under one name. Facilities and grounds for all types of groups. Conference space for meetings with large dining room. Programs include Rope Courses and sailing on the James River. Relax on the porch or by the pool. Open year round.

SKYANCHOR (Camping only)

Skyanchor is nestled on 45 acres at Spring Grove. Abundant forest, a 5 acre lake and a unique nature trail. Full RV hookups, tent camping areas for families or groups. (757) 866-8791.
